Real Madrid acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold with a six-year deal

Trent Alexander-Arnold's comeback is advancing smoothly, giving possibility that the Real Madrid defender could return in time to confront his old team Liverpool in the upcoming Champions League match.

The 27-year-old player sustained a muscle problem during a match against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold exited the field in the early stages, with initial estimates indicating a possible layoff of around a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to visit Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League match—just seven weeks since the injury happened.

Sources familiar with the situation state that the player's healing process is advancing positively, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his initial appearance to Anfield since moving to Los Blancos in the summer.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously said that leaving the team he joined as a six-year-old youth player was the "most difficult decision he's ever made."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 games, helping claim multiple English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has played five times in various tournaments, totaling 156 minutes of game time.
