Administration Faced Allegations of Attack on Free Speech After British Journalist Detained

The prominent Muslim civil rights association has alleged the present government of a “blatant affront to free speech” after national border officials held UK reporter Sami Hamdi this past Sunday.

This body claimed that Hamdi was taken into custody at San Francisco airport facility due to condemning Israel’s current military campaign in Gaza. Hamdi is one of several individuals who have been detained and removed by federal agents for sharing pro-Palestine stances.

Federal authorities stated that Hamdi’s travel visa had been terminated, and that he was in custody “pending removal.”

Immigration Authorities Holds UK Reporter After Comments of Israel

British journalist Sami Hamdi was said to be detained on Sunday morning by border officials at a major US airport, and advocates asserts that action is apparent retaliation for the Islamic commentator’s comments of Israeli actions while traveling in the US.

Comments from the organization described it was “an obvious insult to free speech” to arrest Hamdi for criticizing Israel’s current military operations in the Gaza region while he engaged on a US tour. A government representative commented in a separate statement that Hamdi is being deported.
